Your complete guide to using NanoTag Register—from initial registration through to asset management, theft reporting, and ownership transfers.

Choosing Your Registration Level

NanoTag Register offers two registration levels to suit your needs.

Basic Registration

Free

Simple NanoTag ID registration, stolen-status reporting, police search visibility, and recovery contact.

Best for: basic protection without detailed asset or insurance records.

Full Protection

$4.99/month or $49.99/year

Everything in Basic, plus detailed asset records, photos, insurance details, PDF theft reports, inventory summaries, and ownership transfers.

Best for: comprehensive documentation and maximum recovery support.

Getting Started

Create your account and register your first NanoTag kit.

Create Your Account

  1. 1.Visit the NanoTag Register website and click ‘Register’
  2. 2.Enter your full name, email address, and create a secure password
  3. 3.Provide your phone number and address for law enforcement contact
  4. 4.Choose Basic (Free) or Full Protection
  5. 5.Verify your email address
  6. 6.For Full Protection, complete the secure payment process

Register Your NanoTag Kit

  1. 1.Log in to your dashboard
  2. 2.Click ‘Register a NanoTag Kit’
  3. 3.Enter the NanoTag Kit ID from the packaging or certificate
  4. 4.Choose Vehicle, Motorcycle, Home, or Personal kit
  5. 5.Click ‘Register Kit’ to complete registration

Upgrading to Full Protection

  1. 1.Choose a feature that requires Full Protection
  2. 2.Review the upgrade benefits
  3. 3.Select monthly ($4.99) or yearly ($49.99)
  4. 4.Complete secure payment
  5. 5.Your existing registrations remain preserved

Kit note: Vehicle and Motorcycle kits are single-use. Home and Personal kits can register multiple items under one NanoTag ID.

Managing Your Assets

Full Protection users can add and edit asset details, upload identifying photos, record insurance information, and download an asset inventory.

What to do if your asset is stolen, lost, or recovered.

Basic Registration Users

  1. 1.Open your Dashboard
  2. 2.Find the NanoTag kit
  3. 3.Choose ‘Report Stolen’
  4. 4.Confirm the action
  5. 5.The NanoTag becomes searchable by police

Full Protection Users — Reporting Theft

  1. 1.Open My Assets and select the stolen asset
  2. 2.Choose ‘Report Theft’
  3. 3.Add date, location, police report details and circumstances
  4. 4.Submit the report
  5. 5.Download the PDF for police or insurance claims

When Your Asset Is Recovered

  1. 1.Open Reports
  2. 2.Select the theft report
  3. 3.Choose Mark as Recovered or Mark as Found
  4. 4.The report and asset status update immediately

Selling or Transferring Assets

Keep ownership information accurate when an item changes hands.

Recording a Sale

  1. 1.Open My Assets and select the asset
  2. 2.Choose ‘Mark as Sold’
  3. 3.Enter buyer details and sale date
  4. 4.Confirm the sale

Ownership Transfers

  1. 1.Open Transfers
  2. 2.Choose ‘Initiate Transfer’
  3. 3.Select the asset and enter the new owner’s email
  4. 4.Send the transfer request
  5. 5.The new owner accepts by email

Important: A sold asset can no longer be reported stolen by the previous owner. A formal transfer completes when the new owner accepts it.
