Microdots & marking
Can a thief simply remove the microdots?
No. Thousands of tags are applied across an asset at 0.3–0.7 mm each. They cannot all be located, and a single surviving tag is sufficient to prove ownership.
Do NanoTags survive fire and pressure washing?
Yes. Nickel withstands over 1,000°C without oxidising and the tags remain adhered even after the adhesive burns away. They also resist water, most chemicals and high-pressure cleaning.
What equipment is needed to find a NanoTag?
A UV torch to locate the adhesive, then a 100× portable microscope to read the code — or a Micro-STR reader, which does both electronically.
How long does application take?
Most vehicles and machines are sprayed in minutes. Production-line deployment with the industrial spray pot adds no meaningful cycle time.
Who can verify a code?
Police, insurers, warranty investigators and authorised distributors can check a SIC against the ownership registry and receive the registered owner's details.
Does marking affect warranty or resale?
No. The tags are microscopic and non-invasive. Marked assets typically resell better because provenance can be demonstrated.

No marking system is a guarantee. NanoTag is designed to increase offender risk, support identification and improve the chance of recovery.
How long does installation take?
Most vehicles are marked in minutes at a community event, including registration of ownership details.
Can I book more than one vehicle?
Yes. Book a separate slot for each vehicle so installers can allocate time correctly.
Can businesses participate?
Yes. Small fleets and trade vehicles are welcome, and larger fleets can be scoped as an enterprise program.
Do I need Premium Registration?
Every participant receives Basic Registration. Premium is optional and adds expanded asset and ownership management features.
Can motorcycles and e-bikes be marked?
Yes. Frames, panels and major components are all marked as part of the standard process.
Can fleet operators participate?
Yes — fleet operators often host their own marking day for depot-based vehicles.
